Travel is the movement of people between relatively distant geographical locations for any purpose and any duration, with or without any means of transport. Travel also includes relatively short stays between successive movements. Movements between locations requiring only a few minutes are not considered as travel. As an activity, "travel" also covers all the activities performed during a travel (movement).

Travel may be local, regional, national (domestic) or international. In some countries, non-local internal travel may require an internal passport, while international travel typically requires a passport and visa.

Travel can be for recreational purposes, for tourism, to visit people, for business or for commuting, and may occur for numerous other reasons, such as to obtain health care, migration, fleeing war, etc. Travel may occur by human-powered transport such as walking or bicycling, or with vehicles, such as airplanes, private transport, public transport, automobiles and trains.

A round trip is a particular type of travel whereby a person moves from his/her usual residence to one or several locations and returns. A trip can also be part of a round trip.

Is it safe to travel infant of 8 weeks on long distance flight?
Q. I am planning to travel with my baby from mumbai to london and my baby is of 8 weeks. Is it safe to travel on such long distance flight and what precautions i should take if it is ok to travel.
Asked by Prashant Raut - Tue Apr 28 10:31:27 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yes, it is perfectly safe to travel with a baby that young, even for such a long distance. Babies often do have difficulty with the pressure in their ears during take-off and again when the plane starts to make its descent to land. If you have the baby nursing or drinking from a bottle during that time, then the baby should be fine. Even sucking on a pacifier can help. It isn't dangerous to the baby - they just become uncomfortable if they can't pop their ears. But sucking on something will help. Bring lots of diapers, changes of clothes, and plenty of formula if necessary for the trip. You should bring more than you think you will need just in case there are delays or in case your baby picks that day to change the routine a little.… [cont.]

How long before travel is the cheapest time to buy international airline tickets from Australia?
Q. How long before travel is the cheapest time to buy international airline tickets from Australia. We are travelling late January 2008

A. This all depends on whether the airlines are having seat sales, and where you are travelling to. You would most likely need to purchase the tickets a couple of months in advance. Start looking around for some prices now, that way you can get an idea on what the standard prices are, and you will know when a good deal comes out :) Flight Centre usually has the most competitive airfares out of Australia. Check out their website: You can also check and see what they have to offer. Make sure that you understand the rules and restrictions of an airfare...something might be a couple of hundred dollars cheaper, but have a whole list of restrictions that may cause you problems down the road if you need to cancel and/or change your plans. What are the pros and cons of using a travel agent to plan a vacation to Brazil?
Q. Hello Everyone! My girlfriend wants to travel to Brazil next year for carnival, and would like to use a travel agent to plan our arrangements, while I would much rather plan everything on my own using the internet as a primary resource. Could anyone tell me the benefits and negative aspects of using a travel agent to plan a vacation of this type? Also, I would really appreciate it if anyone who recently traveled to Rio De Janiero could share some opinions and perhaps "insider" tips on traveling to this destination. Thank you.

A. Hello, I can give you some tips, first of all, you really don't need to use a travel agent to come here. Everything here is very cheap. The people normally don't speak English, but you will fell welcome in almost places you go. Try to search another place to go, Rio de Janeiro is the most dangerous town in our country. Recife is a very Beautiful place and it has a famous carnival parade, "o galo da madrugada". Where there are almost 2 million people walking, dancing and singing trough the streets for 3 miles. The beaches around this town are marvelous. "Porto de Galinhas"..."Tamandare".. ."Boa Viagem"...You will apreciate. Good luck and be wellcome.
