Is it illegal to produce and self-publish a guide book to a television show?
Q. I am wondering whether or not it is illegal to self publish an unauthorised guide book to a 60s television show or would copyright need to be sought? The guide would feature mainly new information rather than just copying previously written episode summeries etc.

A. You should check the law, a sixties show's copyright may have expired, in the same way that anyone can make and sell Elvis records legally. Besides that, if you contact the producers of the programmme they may be happy to give you permission. They might ask to be shown it before you publish it. Not only this but they may be helpful and provide you with interviews and other material that you wouldn't be able to get elsewhere. There's no harm in asking.

So will these books by Bryan Peterson: 'Understanding Exposure', 'Understanding Shutter Speed' and 'Understanding Photography Field Guide'. These sites will prove helpful: good scource for low-light exposure times. The more you learn about depth of field and how to use it the better your photography will be. There are times when you'll want a minimum depth of field and times when you'll want a maximum depth of field.

I have been all over book stores trying to get a study guide book for my sheriff test but all i find is for police and i know that they are totally 2 different dept. is there any book you guys recommend or what can i use i live in california in L.A so i took the test once but failed im going to take it on the 29 of NOV so i need to sudy what can i do?

A. I used the police test to study for a sheriff test. It worked fine. The tests are pretty much the same. When it will really make a difference is the oral board. I would suggest that you go ahead and study the police study guides for the written exam. It will help. However, to prepare for the oral boards, I suggest doing as many ride alongs with the dept. you are applying for as possible. I was unable to find study guides specifically for Sheriff when I tested, only police. Yes the depts. are different, however, the written tests are the same. I studied police study guide books and got picked up my first time testing!!!

Best guide book for backpackers and budget travellers?
Q. Any recommendations for the best guidebook to Peru, specifically for a backpacker/ budget traveller like myself? I used lonelyplanet central america on a shoestring before, and it was great, but I dont want to carry around the HUGE south america on a shoestring just for the tiny section on Peru, and every other guide book on Peru seems more for the average or wealthier traveller, not the hostal-seeking, make-every-penny-count traveller like myself. I need a travel guide book!!! I am a college student and I will be traveling to Western Europe this summer.?
Q. I am trying to save money, so I would like the best travel guide book that will help me to do so. I am also in college, so I want a guide book that will show me how to have fun too!! Any suggestions?
